Brew with Stu from Yeastie Boys

We have joined with the Occasional Brewer to offer the public a chance to brew with Stu from the Yeastie Boys.

Join Stu to brew Digital IPA before he heads overseas on the back of a wildly successful Pledge Me campaign. 

Places for the brew day will be strictly limited to 12, with two people per brew kit. Each kit will make approximately 40 litres of beer, half of which you will get to bottle and take home (approximately 2 weeks after the brew date). 

The brew day will include a tasting of Yeastie Boys beers and some food to keep you going through the session.

The Miracle of Malt is a celebration of the miracle of malt and the contribution it makes to the flavour and colour of beer. You will taste seven beers that will all showcase the importance of malt in the brewing process and highlight the impact on ABV. Some interesting beers will be featured.

The brewer from Wild and Woolly Brewing – Llew Bardecki – will join us to chat about his new brewery and beers. Come try some of his range which will be new to the brewing scene.

Beer 101 is a basic guide to craft beer. You will taste seven different craft beers from New Zealand and around the world. Tasters learn the basics on how great beer is made with the few simple ingredients of malt, hops, yeast and water.

The brewer from Kereru – Chris Mills – will come and share his brewing philosophy and talk to us about some of the beers he brews with his team in Upper Hutt.

Craft Beer College Excursion - Cuba Quarter - Walking Tour

We are very excited to announce our very first Craft Beer College Excursion. 

On Saturday 31 January, between 11:30 and 4:30 come spend the day walking around some of the best beery things Wellington has to offer. 

The excursion includes:

  • Brewery tour and beer tasting at Garage Project and Fork and Brewer
  • Lunch and a pint at Little Beer Quarter
  • Tastings at Goldings Free Dive and Rogue and Vagabond
  • A teku glass to take home with you
