Hot Water Brewing @TuesdayFives

Tuesday Fives is a regular tasting series we hold at The Hop Garden on the first Tuesday of the month, and is a great opportunity to try a new (or an old favourite) brewery, or a selection of something seasonal that has us all nodding in appreciation.

This Tuesday October 7 is our next Tuesday Fives session and we’ll be playing host to Dave Kurth and the beers of Hot Water Brewing — five beers, each  matched with a wee taste of something from the kitchen, with running commentary and tales of beery exploits from Mr Kurth himself.

Tuesday Fives is designed to be an informal session and accessible to all - a little banter, a little Q&A, a lot of fun.

$35 is all we ask, we start at 6pm and finish before 8pm — let us know if you'd like your name on a seat

Cheers

North End beer launch - The Hop Garden

Thursday July 31 (yep, that would be tomorrow) sees the launch of North End's latest - Field Way Pale Ale.

Kieran writes: "Our hop forward pale ale takes its name from the Field Way surf break. Field Way combines 3 different fruity New Zealand grown hop varieties [Waimea, Pacifica, NZ Cascade] to create complex aromas and flavours of sweet lemon, lime, and mandarin marmalade with a hint of the herb garden.

"To balance all this zesty hop character we use our favourite base malt,  the Mild Ale Malt from the Malteurope Maltings at Marton in the Rangitikei and a dash of nutty toffee tinged crystal malt from the Bairds Maltings in Scotland."

So a rather delightful sounding number, you can get yours from 6pm Thursday July 31 at The Hop Garden, where the beer will be accompanied by some gratis bits and pieces from the kitchen.

Cheers, hope to see you there

Tuesday Fives feat. mike's

Tuesday August 5 is our next installment of Tuesday Fives which will see us playing host to the affable Ron Trigg from mike's brewery in Taranaki. Ron will guide us through five of his finest brews, no doubt with a couple of tricks up his sleeve, and regale with tales of beer and brewing. Each beer is served with a match from the kitchen.

Tuesday Fives offers a perfect introduction to a range of beers in a relaxed, informal and interactive session. We start at 6pm and finish before 8pm, and only $35 pp - let us know if you'd like your name on a seat

Tuesday Fives

Tuesday Fives is our regular tasting event here at The Hop Garden, held on the first Tuesday of the month, and alternating monthly between beer and wine.
We taste five beers (or wines) either from a single producer or sometimes under the banner of something regional or seasonal, and accompany each with a little something tasty from our kitchen. We generally have the brewer (or winemaker) on hand who will introduce and guide us through their wares.
We kick off at 6pm and aim to be done by around 7.30 or 8pm - tickets are 35 bucks.

Tuesday Fives is a fun, engaging and inclusive evening accessible to all, from those who are starting out on their journey of quality beer through to afficianados and out-and out fangirls/boys

Our next Tuesday Fives will be on June 3 where we will play host to Mike Neilson and the beers of Panhead Custom Ales - let us know if you'd like to reserve some seats

Cheers,
The Hop Garden

Tuesday Fives, now with added ParrotDog

Tuesday Fives is a regular tasting series we're holding at The Hop Garden on the first Tuesday of the month, and is a great opportunity to try a new (or an old favourite) brewery, or winery, or a selection of something seasonal that has us all nodding in appreciation.

This Tuesday April 1 is the second in our Tuesday Fives series and we're stoked to be hosting our almost-neighbours ParrotDog. We'll be tasting five beers from ParrotDog, each of which will be accompanied by a little something from the kitchen ( I hear Gav has been playing around with some charred meat treats). One of the Matts will be on hand to talk briefly about the beers and regale with tales of life as a rock-star brewer.

Tuesday Fives is designed to be an informal session and accessible to all - a little banter, a little Q&A, a lot of fun.

$35 is all we ask, we start at 6pm and aim to be done by around 7.30 - hope to see you there

Cheers
