It's that day again: the day where Golding's Free Dive and Garage Project team up to show our love for all critters, large and small.

From the faithful pup, to the humble stoat, we think caring for our fury friends is important. So this coming Sunday, we'll be hosting a charity afternoon at the Free Dive, with proceeds going the The Official Wellington SPCA!

Joining us this year, will be Pizza Pomodoro and The Montfoort Wafel Co.with Pizza and Bitterballen! Both of them will also be donating part of their takings to the SPCA as well.

We'll be kicking off from 2pm with a line up of all Garage Project beers, including one or two rare and exciting special beers.

Check the Facebook event for updates, including the tap line up:

See you there, and remember, pets are more than welcome, provided they're pub-friendly!

Let Freedom Ring: 4th of July at GFD.

4th of July, Independence Day: The day that Americans celebrate their national sovereignty. And of course, the day that the rest of us put on bad Southern accents and wallow in as much gloriously hoppy beers as is responsible.

At Golding's we take cues from the US of A, both in our décor, and our ethos towards beer. But the most important thing we share with our American cousins is our love of our independence.

So come on down and help us celebrate said independence with a complete tap line up of the finest independent beers from the States! We'll be pouring six beers from 5 different American breweries.

To top it all off, we'll have a special American delicacy on the menu: Mac 'n' Cheese! See you down here on the 4th for the best America has to offer.

Another Craft Beer Bar

Wellington is about to get yet another Craft Beer Bar. No, not that kind of bar. It's a chocolate bar!

Our neighbours, The Wellington Chocolate Factory have been secretly developing a special chocolate made from beer ingredients. Each bar contains malted barley, toffee-malt caramel, and a whole cone of this season's Nelson Sauvin hops. The Golding's crew have described the flavour as similar to a Black IPA, in bar form.

The Craft Beer Bar will be launched jointly at The Wellington Chocolate Factory and at Golding's Free Dive this coming Thursday (29 May). We'll be matching it with two different beers: Epic Apocalypse Back IPA and Golden Eagle Coalface Stout on handpump. Come down and give it a go!

Name kind of says it all, doesn't it? 8 Wired Brewing Company has made a lower alcohol, more sessionable version of their famous Tall Poppy Red Ale. To celebrate a release of such reasonable proportions, we're hosting a reasonable event, at a reasonable time.

On Saturday 24 from 2pm, we'll be tapping Small Poppy, along with some other lovely session beers and making a thoroughly unhurried afternoon of it. To help us along The Fire Truck will be rolling up to serve up some delicious food.

It'll be god-damn convivial, y'all.

May the 4th Be With You/Revenge of the 5th

Anyone who's taken the time to look around Golding's may have noticed we have a fair amount of Star Wars paraphernalia. You could say we're Star Wars fans. In fact you could say we're absolute bloody nuts for it. So with Sunday being International Star Wars Day, how could be pass up the opportunity for a little galactic-themed fun?

On May the Forth, we'll be putting our projector to good use, by playing the Old Testament, back to back, from 2:30 pm. In the spirit of the day, please feel free to dress up as your favourite characters. There will be prizes (full  Mandalorian armour is an instant win).

If that isn't enough, our friends from Montfoort Wafels will be making an appearance with some appropriately themed goodies!

We'll be hosting our first pub quiz on Monday. Darth Miller will be Master of Questions in a devilish quiz designed to test your knowledge and skill with the Force. Further details and registartions are on Facebook. There will be prizes and they will be awesome.

See you then; and may the force be with you...
